Making the Perfect Wedding Playlist

You’ve gotten your florist, baker, dress, and caterer set; everything looks perfect. But wait! You forgot the DJ. With your budget running a little low, a fear that you may not find the right DJ for your tastes, and a world full of music for every taste, a personal playlist seems like the perfect, time-saving option for music at your wedding. Sitting down to make the perfect wedding playlist may seem easy until you click the search bar for your first song addition. To help give some inspo, we have a playlist #goals checklist:

  1. Identify a Wedding Genre
You want to make sure that your playlist marries well with the overreaching theme of your wedding. There is wide variety of genres and ideas that choosing just one can be overwhelming. If you are having a beach wedding, it may be best to highlight some beachy choices, or you may just want to create a list of your favorites. You can even highlight different genres for certain events, like playing top hits during the dancing or jazz during your reception meal.
  1. Target your Guests
You may love some of Kanye West’s new jams, but if great-grandma is in attendance, those songs may not be the best choice for the reception and better for the after-party. Make sure that you balance some of your favorites with music the guests will enjoy too.
  1. Shop Playlists
Spotify has become one of the most popular music streaming software programs in the nation, offering a place to check out others’ playlists and making your own playlists filled with your favorite current and classic songs. If you’re running out of ideas for songs for your special day, look at playlists from others for inspiration.

The Crystal Coast Bridal Alliance is here to make your playlist hunt easier than saying I Do. Search coastalncbride to view our very own Spotify profile page, filled with perfect wedding playlists ready to be heard on your special day or used for inspiration for your own playlists. Happy listening!
